Taylor Family Calander

Hey all,

I've been giving some thought to putting together a Taylor Family Calendar for 2009. I would set it up so that everyone can buy their own, the cost is about $13-14. It would include everyone's birthdays (At least, those that are in my mom's PAF file), and several pictures. I would want to post only high quality pictures, and ones that people would want to be included, so it would be best if you have interest to email me the pictures you want to have included (I tried scrounging the blog, but they just aren't good enough). Also, I plan on including at least those of my generation and their spouses (Again, if in the PAF file), I could include those of the next generation, but only if there's interest (It's not too bad to enter in, but for every new generation it makes things harder...)

Spooky Halloween

Here is a picture of Debbie's family last night on Halloween.

Savannah and Jennifer are fairies. Debbie and Robert are bees. Alex is a knight and Nathan a ninja. The other kids said they will post pictures of their kids later today or tomorrow.

Election Day thoughts

With the Presidential election coming up on Tuesday, I just wanted to give you some "food for thought."
I'm not going to tell you which way you should vote, but I am going to tell you some of the things that are influencing who I vote for:
1. No matter how you try to justify it, abortion is MURDER!
2. God gave Adam Eve, not Steve!
3. "The day we lose our will to fight is the day we lose our freedom!" Everyone in the world should have the right to have freedom! War isn't good, but sometimes it is necessary! You don't believe me, ask a Veteran or someone who has come to America because they wanted to get out of a country where they didn't have freedom! It is worth fighting for! Check out this site. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG4fe9GlWS8
4. Even with the Law of Consecration, everyone is still required to work and do their part! Free handouts= a poor nation! Anyone who can watch their big screen TV while drinking beer and smoking while the government (meaning us as taxpayers) puts food on the table for their children is not a good parent or citizen! Same goes for anyone who has kids just so they can get government handouts! We are taught as members of the Church to be self sufficient, not to rely on others.
5. Anyone who is not willing to put their hand on their heart when the flag is raised or the National Anthem is played should not be leading our country! If you can't show patriotism, you shouldn't be in America!
Those are just a few of the things that have gone through my mind with the election coming up. I'm not asking you to agree with me, but I am asking you to really think things through before you vote! Don't vote for someone just because they're your party's candidate. Vote for them because they represent the values that you want to see in America!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Ok, you asked for it, here they are. Bradley was a vampire and Olivia was a witch. Amanda dressed up as little red riding hood, and I was a skeleton(ok, I wore a skeleton t-shirt).

Memories of my Dad

HI
Just thought I'd write a few things I remember about my dad, since it's his birthday today.

He was born in 1919 and has a twin brother, Dale, who died when he was one month old. His dad was in his 40's when he when he was born and my dad was in his 40's when I was born, so people are suprised when I tell them my GRANDPA was born in 1877. Dad and Dale were the youngest children of Jedediah and Margaret Taylor.

Things I remember about my dad.

He ALWAYS had licorice under the seat of his car or truck, or bit o honey, or sometimes circus peanuts of salt water taffy. He said a few words I wasn't accustomed to, when herding the cows. He loved his horses, Lucky and Penny, and the ones he had later in his life. He always enjoyed a good ride. His favorite game was 'guard the puddle' and played that with many unsuspecting kids. He had a great sense of humor, and loved to joke. He was VERY hard working and expected his kids to be there, too. I remember many hours spent weeding potatoes, burning ditches, killing potato bugs, etc. on the farm. He usually was either right there helping or busy with something else more important.

This post would be a mile long if I wrote everything. Let's just say Dad is an amazing father and I'm lucky to have him. He raised me with great values and taught me how to work. I'm a lucky lady!
Happy Birthday DAD!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!!!

Happy 89th Birthday!!!!

USU Homecoming and Pumpkin Walk

Chandler rode with one of Chris's co-workers Mollee in the USU Homecoming Parade on Saturday. Incidentally, thee car was made by a good friend of mine's pappy.

He was a little excited!

Wild Thing!

More pictures of the pumpkin walk can be seen here.

This is my favorite - may the force be with you!

Ryan's school project

Ryan's class has been learning about communities this month. As part of their lesson, each of them was asked to pick a place in Lehi and make a model of it. Ryan chose IMFT! (Matt's work) He and Matt made this model out of chocolate and frosting! He brought it home Friday and it was gone within 24 hours! He and Matt sure had fun making it! I made the IMFT sign and the little flags, but they did the rest!

Greetings from Elder Pearson

Every 3 months, the missionaries write a MISSIONARY MOMENT for the newsletter. Here is David's for Nov.

Hello and Greetings from the wonderful state of Florida. I'm currently in the Sarasota South area and loving it. I was thinking about what I was going to write in this for a long time, and I couldn't think of anything. Then someone asked me at church what were some ways that young men can prepare for missions. I decided to look to the scriptures for the answers. I came up with a list of five Do's and five don'ts.

While preparing for a mission DO:

Pay your tithing (Acts 5:1-10)
Learn to love to be reproved (Proverbs 15:10)
Learn to live without plumbing (Jeremiah 4:19-20)
Be Righteous, not slothful (Proverbs 15:19)
Worship God with all your might (2nd Sam 6:14)

While preparing for a mission DO NOT:

Make fun of priesthood leaders (2nd Kings 2:23-24)
Get Married and have kids (Jeremiah 16:3-4)
Accept gifts from your enemies (Alma 55:11-18)
Ask for a sign (Alma 30:48-50)
Confuse 1 Nephi 3:7 with 3 Nephi 3:7

I hope that this list helps all of you know what you can do to prepare for a mission. I know that these have blessed me in my life. Happy Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Merry Christmas!! I miss you all!

Football Update- especially for Anna!

Hopefully posting this won't jinx Boise State, but I couldn't resist!
With a 27-7 win over Hawaii, Boise State is now 6-0 in their football season! We have a couple of big games yet to play (San Jose State- next week, and Fresno State- in 6 weeks, are suppose to be tough) but so far so good! Matt and I went to a Sports Pub tonight to watch the game with a couple of Matt's buddies from work! It was a good game! Hawaii beat us last year, so it was nice to pay them back! It was also nice to see the blue "Smurf Turf" again! We don't have ESPN, so this is the first game we've been able to watch this year! Anthony and I are going to Boise in 3 weeks to watch the game against Utah State! I like living in Utah, but I will always be a BSU fan!
By the way, Anna, what's BYU at now? 6-1?
Sorry, couldn't resist!

UPS Sort Aisle

This is a video clip of me sorting packages on the sort aisle at work. The picture is a little fuzzy, but the speed is the same. This was my last trailer of the shift so I was already tired, but I had to go fast because the packages of this load are Mona Vie drinks which is a very expensive drink in a breakable bottle. The person I sort for likes to go as fast as he can when the packages are all the same size in the load so I usually have to do about 1800 PPH to keep up. That will wear you out!

The circus

I thought I'd share a few pictures of the circus my family and I went to in September. We had an awesome time! I also included one taken at Hogle Zoo.

Dad's bathroom and Randy's trailer

Here are some pictures of Dad's bathroom that I have been re-doing. I am glad it is pretty much done. Also are pictures of the trailer that Randy has been working very hard to build. It is large enough to carry a car or pick-up. I am sure it will be used a lot. I am proud of him! He did a great job!
