Anthony's entries for the "Reflections" contest

Anthony entered both of these in this year's school "Reflections" contest. The theme was, "Beauty is....". Last year he entered a picture and only received a certificate of participation. This year he received an "Award of Merit" on both of them! (Basically second place!) He received medals with his name on them! We're very proud of him!

Anna's and my Football deal 2009

Just so we have witnesses, here's the deal that Anna and I came up with for this year's football season: We're not going to go by the whole season, just the big rivalry games. If BSU beats U of I (and before you say anything, know that U of I has actually been doing good this year) and BYU loses to the Utes then Anna has to wear a BSU shirt at the family reunion this summer. If BSU loses and BYU wins then I have to wear a BYU shirt. If both teams win then we'll go by points. If both teams lose then Anna will wear a BSU shirt and I'll wear a BYU shirt. BSU's game is tomorrow and BYU's game is the 28th. This should be fun!

Veteran's Day

Just a reminder that today's Veteran's Day, so make sure your flag is out! Remember that we have our freedom today because of brave men and women, including Grandpa Taylor and several other relatives, who have served and are serving our country! If you see a soldier or a Veteran today, take the time to shake their hand and thank them!

Taylor's Blessing Day

Taylor Jean Nelson was blessed on November 8 by her Dad. Matt did a wonderful job! She was blessed in the same dress that I was blessed in! She was also blessed on the 13th Anniversary of when Matt and I met! We're so happy that she's a part of our family!

Ok, so we decided to carve pumpkins again this year. After getting one for free from my mom, we went and got two more.

Bradley wanted to have a mummy pumpkin. After trying to figure out how to "carve" the mummy wrap, we decided to sacrifice an old t-shirt and just wrap it.

Olivia wanted a kitty, so Amanda drew up a kitty face, and I set about carving it out. One cut and a few bandaids later, it turned out pretty cute.

I decided to do things a little different this year. Tired of seeing all the cute jack-o-lanterns out there, I decided to make a "gross" pumpkin. It was probably the quickest one I have done, since I didn't have to scrape out the insides.

BRRRRRRRR!

For those traveling to Utah for Jason's wedding tomorrow, please be careful! This is what the weather looks like today! It's supposed to snow again tomorrow but then it's supposed to clear up again. The weather should be fine for those going to Grandpa's Birthday party this weekend! It looks like there might be rain in Idaho on Friday and Saturday, but no snow. Travel safe everyone!

Grandpa's Birthday Party

Just a reminder to everyone that Grandpa Taylor's 90th Birthday is coming up on October 29th. My Mom is having an open house for Grandpa on October 31 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Moreland Church House. (740 W. 175 N. Blackfoot)

Two weeks old!

Cute as can be! This is the blanket and outfit that Grandma Edie got her! They're both SOFT!!! She's all dressed up and ready to go in for her 2 week check-up!

It's me again, with another new blog (sorry). I've been writing my blog for two different audiences, and so I've decided to split it up. Viva La Balloon Fiesta!

Seriously - you all need to come and visit us! Sure, it was chilly when we got up at 5:30, and it took 45 minutes to drive 7 miles. But hey, Chris works at the building that is in between where the balloons take off and where they land so we bypassed the parking fee and saw the Mass Ascension. It was unbelieveably awesome! Hundreds and Hundreds of balloons filled the skyline. Maybe I'll get up supremely early all week.



Then we went home and watched General Conference. That was equally awesome. We've just been feasting all day.

One week old

The newest member of our family is one week old today! Time flies! She's doing really well!

Taylor is Here!

As long as I remember right, since i got the phone call in the middle of the night......

TAYLOR JEAN NELSON has made her arrival!!!! She was born at 2:41 AM, was 19 1/2 inches long and weighed 7 lbs 1 oz. She has a lot of dark hair.
(Forgive me, Rochelle and Matt if i got something wrong!)

I didn't get my excitement wrong! WAAAAAA HOOOOOOO!!!!!!! SHE IS HERE!

Rochelle said Taylor is just perfect! Mother and daughter and Father are doing well!

22 years ago today

Hi,
I just want to take a minute to honor my mom. It was 22 years ago today that the terrible accident happened that would take her life 10 days later. I have to honor my memories of her today. She was and still is a great lady. I look forward to seeing her again.

Update on Taylor Jean

I was in the hospital again last night for 3 1/2 hours. I was dilated to a 4 when I got there so we thought "this is it!" WRONG! After 3 1/2 hours of very bad contractions, nothing happened and they sent me home. I cried for quite a while! I went in for my Dr. appointment today and I'm still at a 4. The Dr. said that she could come any time but if she's not here by Monday then he's going to break my water and get her here! So I have 5 days or less! YAY!!!!!!!! I'll keep you posted! Matt's still saying she's going to come during the BSU game on Friday! I'm just hoping that she doesn't come during the BYU game on Saturday because my Dr. is going to the game and won't be available! That's probably what she'll do though just to be stubborn!

Contest

I'm doing this on facebook too but since some of you don't facebook then I thought it would be fun to do a family contest too! So basically I'm due any time between now and Oct. 5. For today and tomorrow I'm asking you to predict what day and what time Taylor will get here! I will send cookies to the person who guesses the closest! I'm doing this separate from the facebook contest, so you can predict here and there if you want to! Matt's already taken this Friday (18th) during the Boise State game!
