Copper Wire

After having dug to a depth of 10 feet last year, New York scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the conclusion, that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the New Yorkers, in the weeks that followed, a California archaeologist dug to a depth of 20 feet, and shortly after, a story in the LA Times read: 'California archaeologists, finding traces of 200 year old copper wire, have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than the New Yorkers.'

One week later, The Aberdeen Times, a local newspaper in Idaho, reported the following:
After digging as deep as 300 feet in his pasture near Sterling, Idaho, Bubba Brown, a
self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely nothing. Bubba has therefore concluded that 300 years ago, Idaho had already gone wireless.

Thank Heaven's for Bubba.

Bryner Surgery Patients Update

I haven't really been posting much because this is basically the first day I felt like I could bear to sit up in a chair and look at a bright computer screen. We are finally recovering and I, Anna, expect to be back to school by Friday. The twins went to preschool today and have recovered much faster than I have. Our surgies all went well and there were no complications. We also had our adenoids taken out also (I have no idea what those are, and I didn't dare look at them), and we also had allergy tests. If you ever have to get a surgery where you'll be under anesthesia for a while and its an option, I would get an allergy test done if I hadn't already. We had lots of allergies we had no idea about. Garrett had a 9 on "White Potato" and we would have never ever known. (A 9 in the millimeters of swelling on his back). Garrett also had to have a tube taken out of one of his ears and Ali had them put in. It turns out that my tonsils were infected and thus the reason for constantly getting sick. What we think was going on is that my tonsils were infected with strep, no matter whether or not I had medicine and I just carried it around. Whenever I did stuff that wore me out a lot, it made my symptoms stronger or something. Anyways, I'm just glad that there was a good reason for getting them out because I suffered a ton. I don't want to scare any of you, but if you ever have to have your tonsils out, don't imagine the pain because it will most likely be different than you think and hurt more in a different way. With me, I didn't even have a popsicle until yesterday. My mom forced me to suck on one on Day Four, but it wasn't out of my free will. I had a really, really hard time recovering from it. I won't go into some details because it is really disgusting, but let me just say it was really, really hard to keep hydrated and I didn't ever feel like eating or drinking anything. I was really, really weak for a long time. My parents were going to take me to the ER to get an IV if I didn't improve by Monday, but luckily I started feeling a little better and was able to drink a little bit more. I have begun eating more today. I still can't eat much unless its really soft and slides down relatively easier than solid foods, but it's still an improvement. I am happy to report that though I was naucious for many days, not a single one of us threw up. Since this report has been rather long, I will end it and stop taking up so much time! :)

Bryner Surgery Patients???

Just wondering how all the sick Bryner's are, and how Liz held up with everything!!!!!

Trip to the Doctor

I just had my first Doctor visit today. I'm due Oct. 11 which means that I'll probably actually have the baby in late September if this one is like the others! The doctor said that I'm fine and the baby's fine! Note that it's baby not babies! We did an ultrasound and there's only one! No twins! I go back in a couple of weeks, but so far so good! I promise I won't report on every Dr. visit, but I thought I'd let everyone know when I'm due!

Emily's Birthday Spotlight

My sweet baby girl turned 2 years old today!  I had to share some of her special day with you.
We gave her a doll accessory set that included a play pen (that she can fit in, kind of), stroller, bouncy chair, and diaper bag/changing mat.  She is such a nurturer.  She is constantly changing her "baby's" diapers and feeding her bottles and taking her for walks.  She also likes to try to take care of her baby brother, though she can't pick him up and put him in the stroller, THANK GOODNESS!!

Also, she is very into Curious George, so I attempted to make her a Curious George birthday cake.  It turned out fine, but I don't think I will be applying to any cake decorating places any time soon.

Happy Birthday Emily!!

Happy Birthday to Matt and Emily!

Though we already wished my dad a happy birthday, we didn't wish Emily or Matt a happy one. So happy birthday, those of you who have one today!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Christian B., Matthew G., and Emily C. today! May all your wishes come true!

Happy Birthday, Chrisitian!

Happy Birthday, Christian, from your daugther Anna! I am making this post in advance as I may not be able to after your present has been done to me. I hope you have a wonderful birthday with four major presents (/surgeries) of/from your kids. We hope we are all in great spirits after Pierce, Garrett, and I all get our tonsils out and Ali gets tubes in her ears! Happy Birthday!
Love,
Anna

Guess what

I figured I may as well let everyone know- RYAN IS GOING TO BE A BIG BROTHER!!!!! This is a MAJOR surprise to us, but this is for sure meant to be! I don't know exactly when, but we think the end of October or first part of November. We'll keep you posted!

I JUST MET BRONCO MENDENHALL

Well, last night really. For those of you in the family that receive Cougar Mail (I'm sure there are just so many of you) you should know by know about the Bronco Mendenhall fireside titled "An Uplifting Evening With Bronco Mendenhall". When it comes on again, I encourage everybody to watch it on BYU TV to fully understand why Bronco Mendenhall was chosen to become the head coach and how he had to mix football with religion. Anyways, it was a great fireside. Afterwards, I GOT TO MEET BRONCO MENDENHALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I ALSO GOT HIS SIGNATURE IN MY OFFICIAL BYU NOTEBOOK FROM GRANDMA PRETE. HE WROTE " ANNA, CHOOSE THE RIGHT" Then he signed his name. We also talked to him a little bit. We told him we were big Jan Jorgensen fans because we live in Price (right next to Helper) and he looked up from signing my book and said "we are too" with his wife Holly. He also told me that I look nice in glasses and that his son wore glasses (don't ask me why he said that). Man, that was an awesome night last night!

P.S. For those of you who aren't the least bit familiar with BYU football, Bronco Mendenhall is the Head Coach of BYU Football.
Unfortunately, we didn't even have my dad's cell phone with us so we couldn't take any pictures, but luckily a BYU photographer was there and so they told us we could order some pictures from them.

"It" has frozen over!

Let me preface this with letting those that do not know. I live in Southern Arizona, about 60 miles southeast of Tucson, and about 60 miles from the Mexico Border.
We received a call at 6 AM yesterday informing us that school had been canceled due to a snow storm. Yes you read correctly, a snow storm! I took these pictures out side my house.
In Idaho we called this a light dusting, but these Arizonians could not handle it. It was gone by 12

He's going into the nuclear field, so he will have a 6 year committment, 2 years training and 4 'in the field".. Because of his eagle, he goes in at an E3. He's excited about that! Anyway.. that's our news for the day.

Happy Birthday Janet & Joyce!

In honor of birthdays tomorrow, I thought I would share what their dad had to say about them. (From the life history that I promise you'll get a copy of.)

"It was an exciting time when our twins, Janet and Joyce were born. We were not expecting to have twins. They were born premature on a cold February night. Janet was born at home and Joyce on the way to the hospital. They were very tiny, but did very well under excellent care in the Bingham Memorial Hospital for about one month. It was exciting rearing them. Both did very well in school, Janet being the Valedictorian and Joyce in the top ten of their class. Janet has twins of her own at this date. Janet and Joyce both attended Ricks College."

I remember Grandpa recounting this story to me about a year ago. He said that they drove in to the hospital and he ran in with Janet in hand. He told the doctor - you'd better hurry, there's another coming.

New Business

Some of you have heard the news, but I am now a business owner!
I have been working for a guy, resurfacing counters and bathtubs for the last year. He decided he wanted to sell the business and I bought it. It has happened very fast, and I am still waiting for my LLC to be approved, but I will be, Cobra Refinishing LLC DBA (Doing Business As) Pro Finish. My area for now is the Tucson, Arizona area, but I will expand as I can. I am nervous but excited at the same time. I will try to keep you all informed as to the progress.
