We left a little earlier than planned, right after the dinner, because we heard rumors of bad weather on the way and we wanted to beat it. Well, we made it to SLC about 2 hours before our flight, which turned out to be good, as it started snowing fairly hard after we returned our car, checked in, and got passed security.
So, our plan was to fly through Las Vegas, hit a 45 minute layover and fly back to Tucson. At first, there was no delay, then it started creeping up to a 20 minute delay, and held constant for an hour. Finally, the time was coming that the plane was supposed to land that was going to take us. Right at that time, they announced another 10 minute delay, but promised that it would not affect any connections, so we breathed a sigh of relief. About a minute later, they announced that the plane had been diverted, to Boise. It's about an hour by plane to Boise, and an hour back. So, well, we missed the connection. As it was weather, they wouldn't provide vouchers, and the next flight didn't leave till 6:30 in the morning. So we ended up staying the night at the Las Vegas airport, not alot of fun... It actually would have been quicker to drive, that only would have taken 13 hours, not the 15 from the time we made it to the SLC airport. Still, there was no way to know...
